Chaussette connectée Dream Sock vert OWLET

This company uses planned obsolescence. We bought a used owlet sock and it is no longer supported by the company. So if you buy their products there is a good chance it will stop working while you own it for no reason other than there's a new model. Run far and run fast to any other reputable company that actually cares about the families they serve.

This year I had my first baby and I have suffered from postpartum anxiety since she's been born. I saw this sock on TikTok and thought I would purchase it to help ease some of my worry at night. This year on Mother’s Day. I was awoken to the most horrific sound, which was the base alerting me that my daughter’s oxygen was below 80%. I looked in her bassinet and she looked as if she was sleeping. I picked her up and she was not reacting to my verbal or physical stimulus. My daughter was not breathing, and I wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for this sock. I truly believe my daughter would not be alive if it wasn’t for this device.

I used the older version of the sock for my twins and it worked well. I have the newest version now and have been using it for my son. It constantly beeps saying it is disconnected from the sock. It has woken me up so many times. The times that it has gone off with a red alert I am looking at my baby and he is wide awake and moving around. I am not happy with our newest version. I will say it does charge a lot better. The old version only lasted for a year before it broke and stopped charging. I would love to say it gives me peace of mind, but it alarms so often (for disconnection or base station being too far away) that it is interrupting my sleep and sanity. We live in a two story home and it should be able to reach from our room to the living room. It isn’t very far.

The product is awesome. The support team needs some training on WiFi connections. The Dream sock only operates on a 2.4GHz WiFi which they are very adamant about. However it will only operate on a WPA network. It will not pick up or connect to a network operating on WPA2/WPA3, which most newer routers are set to operate on. That being said I only figured this out by manually reconfiguring the WiFi router myself in a last ditch effort to get our new sock to connect. Not one support document or support team member mentioned this. I hope this helps any new customers with connectivity issues.

I really wanted to love the Owlet sock monitor, but it’s honestly been more frustrating than helpful. The biggest issue is constant false alerts for “sock displacement” even when my baby is completely still and sleeping. It goes off multiple times a night, which completely defeats the purpose of having something that’s supposed to give you peace of mind.

Instead of feeling reassured, I’m constantly second-guessing whether something is actually wrong or if it’s just another false alarm. It ends up waking both me and my baby up for no reason, which is incredibly stressful and exhausting.

On top of that, the app can be glitchy and slow to update, sometimes taking way too long to reconnect. The base station alarm is also very loud and jarring, which might be good in a real emergency—but not when it’s happening repeatedly for no real issue.

The sock itself can be tricky to position correctly, and it doesn’t always stay in place well, especially as babies get a little more wiggly. For something this expensive, I expected much better reliability and consistency.

Overall, this product caused more anxiety than it solved. Between the false alarms, connectivity issues, and fit problems, I wouldn’t recommend it. There are definitely better, less stressful options out there.

Getting one star due to the fact that I’ve been trying to connect this sock to WiFi for hours now and your owlet support is not helpful at all. Your WiFi connect for the dream sock sucks and has sent me spiraling. I just want to use this sock and can’t even do so because of the WiFi. Do better.

I bought this for my second after having one for my first. I absolutely love it, however it does have some connection issues. it will randomly say it's been disconnected when my baby isn't even moving. she could be 2 ft from it and it will alarm randomly. it's not very common. Other then that I love it and I will keep using it.

Overall, we love the owlet sock. It tracks oxygen and heart rate accurately and gives us peace of mind! The only thing I do not like with the sock is the ability to change the parameters. I understand we can get a physician’s order to do so, but if we can’t, why does the low oxygen alert not go off until baby is below 80%?? It should go off if baby gets below 89%! Again, overall the product is amazing, but I wish they would make this feature accessible to all parents.
