This is a awesome product and made my life so much easier. This was made with perfection and it's super simple to use. I love the fact you can slice many different sizes depending on how you want it or need for a certain recipe. My grandkids like certain vegetables sliced very thin. The V shaped blade even lets you slice up hard meats, now that is awesome. It's very safe to use to. Thank you for making my life easier with this product.

It's easy to use, easy to adjust and feels very safe when using the guard. But most importantly, It's easy to clean. I highly recomend this mandoline.

Having graduated from culinary school and used various mandolins over the years, I can honestly say I love the Kobra for at home use. It does not come with multiple blades, but you can easily adjust the size of the cut. I really have no need for any other blade as a result. I especially love that I was not scared of losing a limb while using it as I often am with larger mandolins. It is sturdy, ergonomically correct, and very easy to clean. I received this as part of their test program. I consider this an entry level mandolin but it performed quite well. The thickness adjustment knob is at the end of the handle and is very easy to operate. I sliced a soft tomato and a ripe peeled peach with ease. It struggled a bit to slice soft rubbery fresh mozzerella cheese but the fact it cut it at all is a win in my book. It's a good tool for the money.

I received this product for free from de Buyer in exchange for my honest review. I sliced ripe tomatoes, Vidalia onions and potatoes and they all were able to be sliced very thin, without squishing. The maximum opening (max slice thickness) is about 1/4 IN. You turn a knob in the handle that clicks as you increase / decrease the opening. I find that an advantage as you can reproduce the slice thickness by counting the clicks from completely closed. I thought hand holding one end would be awkward, but you can actually create a nice pile of cut veggies, by holding it at the right angle, and using it over a cutting board. The max width of the cut is 3 1/4 IN. The blade is very sharp. Very pleased with the results, and would recommend this mandoline in many instances over a food processor, as you easily clean it with hot water (unless you cut oily or sticky foods), and let it air dry.

I purchased this La Mandoline Kobra to replace one that I had for at least 10 years. During the whole time I had the original one, it stayed as sharp and easy to use as it was the first time. But, alas, a part of the screw that moves to adjust the thickness of slices broke off, and it could not be reattached I noticed that the instructions with my new Kobra say to grease the screw on occasion. I would like to know what de Buyer recommends using for grease, as I've seen the screw can fail after extended use. We always hand wash it.
