G502 is bad get a Swiftpoint Z3 instead

TLDR I bought this a little while ago and ended up returning it because it wasn't particularly comfortable in my hand, then bought the Swiftpoint Z3 and immediately fell in love

The on the thumb side the thumb rest so when I was in a particularly stressful moment in a game sometimes the side buttons which really annoyed me

The buttons to the left of M1 I so unbelievably uncomfortable to use because the M1 is sloped inwards to the middle of the trigger so my finger naturally slides away from the side buttons which is a bit counterintuitive in my mind.

The mouse is also angled slightly to the right. what I mean is with the slopes and positioning of the M1 and M2 my hand naturally holds the mouse like 20 degrees to the left, so it is much harder to move the mouse in straight lines or get comfortable using it.

I do have more of a claw grip than a palm grip and claw does not work for this mouse at all really. As when I'm holding the mouse in a claw I can't use either of the buttons to the left of M1 as they are so far out the way now and the thumb cluster is considerably harder to press and in general more uncomfortable to press with this grip.

A mate of mine has a g502 Hero and I used that one a little bit it and was immediately way more comfortable to use. The buttons what generally way more ergonomic and in the positions where my finger actually sat and felt way more premium despite being cheaper, this mouse felt insanely cheap in comparison, every single one of the buttons on this mouse felt considerably worse than on the g502 Hero with what felt like considerably cheaper plastic.

And on top of all of that the software for binding the buttons on the mouse is a massive letdown. I used a g903 for years until it broke and the entire time I've always had my complaints with the software, but it seems like it is improving albeit very very slowly. Part of me wishes it was open source because I definitely think the enthusiasts, including myself, would spent time improving its awful UI and menus.

After returning this I bought a Swiftpoint Z3 and I was immediately in love the mouse is super ergonomic and has much customizability in the binding software and so many features that I wanted for years in Logitech g hub that just never came. Plus they are both sold at a similar-ish price point and the Z3 feels more premium more comfortable and with more customizability my just don't see a world where I by Logitech again

Best mouse I've ever had, definitely buy it

Bought this mouse about 2 or 3 months ago and it might just be the best I've ever had. The G502 X just feels so premium, however I wasn't expecting the material to be smooth plastic, but it's fine. Not to mention the 13 programmable buttons which is insane! Yeah this mouse is amazing, definitely recommend.

Thanks for sharing your experience! The G502 X really does have that premium vibe, and those 13 programmable buttons are a game-changer for customization.

Great mouse wheel, bad linux support and tinny clicks.

I bought this as the lightest g502 model, and the lightest mouse I could find with infinite scrolling mousewheel. After previously having 60g mouse this is fairly heavy, and strangely the clicks feel a little more hollow than my previous mouse did, and especially the lock for the mouse wheel spin is tinny but tolerable. The mouse fits my hand well, the weight is good, the scroll wheel took a bit of getting used to but I'm glad I traded weight for the better wheel.

Overall good, I think they could improve this with better thocky clicks rather than the tinny ones they currently chose. Also linux support, it works but all the extra buttons are non-functional.

Hey! Thank you for sharing such detailed insights on the G502 X. We’re glad the infinite scroll wheel and overall fit work well for you, even with the trade‑off in weight. Your feedback on click feel and Linux support is invaluable, it helps us refine both design choices and compatibility for future updates.

Perfect for even a old gamer fits just right

30 year old gamer here, have tried all brands, keep coming back and sticking with Logitech the 502 size is just perfect for my medium size hands.

The buttons have an ideal layout for FPS and being able to change dpi on the fly really helps. The power play charge is excellent and worth getting the power play mat as you’ll never run of battery mid game

Hey! The G502 X Lightspeed clearly feels like the right fit for you. It’s great to hear the size works perfectly for medium hands and that the button layout supports FPS play so well. Being able to adjust DPI on the fly is a huge advantage, and pairing it with the Powerplay mat for continuous charging really eliminates any battery worries mid‑game. Your feedback shows how Logitech keeps delivering reliable gear for gamers across generations.

    Great mouse, awful software

As with my G915 X keyboard review, the hardware is great (in this case excellent); the software is terrible.

I like the mouse for normal use, although occasionally the Lightspeed connection gets a bit erratic, even though the receiver is only about 1 1/2 feet away with nothing in between.

Some of the buttons seem a little bit hard to reach with a normal grip. But after re-mapping some, it seems I can use the mouse as I need.

But as with the keyboard, the G Hub software lets the side down. It's so confusing and hard to set up switchable, on-board, working profiles that I'm currently running G Hub in the background all the time, just so even mapped System functions work as I want them to.

    So great mouse; lousy software.

Fast, comfortable and great for gaming

I've been using Logitech mice for years for good reasons. They're always really high quality, feel super comfortable in my hand and work without any issues and this G502 X Lightspeed is no different.

It has an excellent battery life and comes in either a white or black variant, the latter of which I own and use.

It's super smooth and precise with no input lag whatsoever. The buttons have a really nice and satisfying feel to them with a great click. The scroll wheel can be used in two modes, as your normal ratcheted mode but also with a free spinning hyperfast mode. You can even tilt it left and right which works as fully customisable micro keys.

The DPI button can be set in two ways or even taken off entirely which is always appreciated and the mouse comes with 5 onboard memory profiles.

Overall I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great new gaming mouse with some extra customisation to suit your playstyle. I've used mine for a few months now and it's working great- absolutely no complaints.

    Gaming Mouse

This lightweight yet solidly built mouse feels comfortable in the hand while gaming and during productivity tasks. The design is nice but purely from a comfort and usability perspective I would highly recommend. The switches have a nice tactile feel when pressing the buttons but not overly clicky. They sound somewhat between cherry reds and blues. Ghub is a great companion with good discord integration and you can really set up your keybindings however you like and really make the mouse yours.

    Good wired gaming mouse

Decent mouse. Looks sleek and is ergonomic. I'd say if anything it's slightly small. Responsive thanks to the Hero sensor. The wired option benefits from never running out of battery, whereas if you went wireless you'd have to consider that. Very customizable so you can set it up to suit you. More of a budget mouse suited to the less serious gamer.
