I received this product from de Buyer in exchange for my honest review. I made the Joy of Cooking's (1975 edition) brownie recipe - Brownies Cockaigne. I have made this recipe for years and it is my favorite brownie recipe. I loved the de Buyer brownie pan because the brownies were easy to remove. The de Buyer brownie pan is easily to clean and it is a perfect size. The product is very well made, sturdy weight but not too heavy. The dark color and weight of the pan also promoted quicker than my normal baking time for the recipe producing a brownie that was uniformly moist, a little cakey (as I like them), and rich with chocolate flavor. I definitely will not be going back to the pan I used in the past. Thank you de Buyer. Great pan!

My family loves brownies so when de Buyer offered to send me this pan to get my honest review, I jumped at the chance.

Brownies are a go-to snack at our house. I've been using an aluminum pan that works okay but has some sticking issues. The first surprise about de Buyer pan was how well it's made. While fairly lightweight, it seems to have a double layer construction that completely eliminates flex. My wife also commented how the brownies didn't have that hard layer on the bottom they sometimes get with other pans.

The best part was after the brownies had cooled and it was time to dig it. There was no sticking at all. I covered the pan with a plate, turned it over and they popped right out. This is a great brownie or snack cake pan. My old pans are probably going to get retired.

The cake turned out moist and completely baked in the time recommended in the recipe. It was the perfect size to make a small 8”x8” cake, brownies, or cornmeal biscuits. I usually make a dessert recipe a week or sometimes more for me and my husband. I am happy to add this pan to my collection of bakeware. I know that this pan will be versatile and can’t wait to use it for other recipes.

I liked that this pan is larger than the typical 8" square pan (it's about 9 1/4") as I have some recipes that call for that larger size. The pan is solid and feels well made. The non-stick surface worked perfectly and the brownies I made were cooked evenly and thoroughly. My oven can be a bit temperamental, so I was happy to get such good results.

Disclosure: I received this product for free from de Buyer in exchange for my honest review. I've been using glass pans to bake for the longest time, and generally enjoy them. However, even with a large amount of oil, things tend to stick to them and are hard to get out since glass is heavy and slips out of your hands easily. Enter my first experience with the nonstick baking mold, this thing is incredible! I made some brownies in it, and with a light application of oil they didn't stick at all, even with a fudgy interior. I got them out using a metal spatula, no knocking or prying, then realized that it may have been a huge mistake to use metal on non-stick. To my surprise, there wasn't even a scratch on the coating. So kudos to de Buyer for making a nice mold and a tough non-stick coating.
