This is the perfect size for most any chicken, roast, or stew. I even began baking these mega loaves of bead in it!

The product is very well made and delivers exactly what it proposes. The vegetables are cooked to perfection and can be browned in the same pan. The poultry and pork will fall off the bone when cooked “low and slow”. It even made an excellent oval peasant bread. You could say that the weight is an issue but its to be expected with this kind of product. It’s the kind of product that will last a lifetime and can be handed down through generations. I purchased mine with a visual imperfection that I am still trying to find. I would not have purchased it at regular full price which is why I gave the high value rating on my imperfect version.

Love the Basil color. Looks exactly as pictured. The 7 quart size is perfect for entertaining. I used this on my holiday table this year. Nice to have something that cooks so well, and looks fabulous on the table. Saves clean up time and performs just as it looks.

I have several other round cocottes but found myself needing an oval. This is just the right size for a roast, or a whole chicken and some vegetables. As always, the finish and black enamel are to die for. The basil green is gorgeous.

The perfect pan for roasting a chicken. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly, also stays hot for hours. It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish - nothing dries and your flavor base stays intact. The cocotte has a black matte finish that helps to create a perfect cooking surface searing anything perfectly.

Like a Spring-green colour… looks & performs great. Solid, durable cast iron with tighht lid and moisture-targeting nobs beneath lid.

I use this all the time when cooking whole chickens and pot roasts. Also like it because it's oven safe so i have an option for stovetop cooking or in the oven. Serve right from this beautiful Cocotte.
